The Expander is designed to expand the jiffy pellets from their dry compressed state. Trays are placed at entry point, sub-irrigated and sprayed from above at progressive stages until expanded. Production rate is 12 trays per minute and water temperature is preferred to be 130 degrees.
Expanded plugs then pass through the optional Dibble unit where the indentations are reformed and centered prior to seeding.
Dibble unit uses B&L’s quick-attach system, so it can be quickly connected and always lines up correctly. Dibble unit can be added at a later date if and as required.
